Importance of Links

In order to rank well in Google and Yahoo, one must constantly seek out good quality links. There are more ways to archive backlinks:

1. Buying them (Thios works like a charm if you want to increase your Page Rank)

Reading of forums, articles, books I can say that 80% of webmasters brought at leat once Text Link Ads, aka. Backlinks. Often, "text link ads" is the nice form for buying links with high Page rank. Prices can be as low as $10 and as high as $4000. (One of the fewest Page Rank 10 website)

2. Reciprocal Links

The process of reciprocal linking is one that has lost a lot of authority as of late. There are far too many website owners that are finding ways to trick other Webmasters with reciprocal linking, making it hard to find quality link partners. The best way to do this is the 3 way linking.

Eg:

A ---> B --->C

A and C are owned by one webmaster.

A link building technique that is known by most, but effectively utilized by few, is free web directory submission.

The SE’s love these types of sites because, similar to SE’s, they provide a wide range of informational sites that are neatly categorized. Many webmasters will submit their new website to several web directories.

One common misconception of free web directory submission is that submitting to a low toolbar PageRank directory will do you no good. Just think if your link would have been placed in the DMOZ web directory (the biggest authority web directory on the Internet) when it was brand new. It would not have received much weight at first but after time it would probably be your best back-link.

3. Non-reciprocal directory submission

Free or Paid Submission? Free web directory submissions are always a good idea but if you have a few extra dollars to invest, paid submission can be extremely valuable as well. Many pay web directories hold a high PageRank giving your link a very nice, quality vote in the SE’s. You can find some very high PR pages in these pay directories that could be relatively cheap. When it comes down to it, paid directories, while not mandatory, can prove to be valuable.

No link building campaign will be successful without a combination of several techniques. If web directory submission is not one of yours, it should be. If it is one of the, or the, only link building technique that you use, you should think about adding other techniques as well such as article marketing and triangular linking.

Keep this advice in mind when conducting your link building campaign and you will, no doubt, find great success in the promotion of your web site.
